CYMEPA

The Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Association has been formed with the initiative of the International Shipping Community of Cyprus with the support of the Commercial Community of the island.
The principal aim of CYMEPA is to encourage and actively assist effective efforts to prevent all forms of pollution of the sea. The Association also helps seafarers and executives to be more aware of safety and the protection of the marine environment.
CYMEPA also initiates environmental projects and operates extensive public awareness campaigns, giving priority to environmental education of Schoolchildren.

ECOSCHOOLS

In this site, you will find out about the Eco-Schools programme generally, and links and contacts of national programmes. You can discover about some of the projects, and the Partners and Sponsors which help make it happen. There are news and newsletters, and a special area for schools, with ideas, projects, art and other submissions sent in by Eco-Schools.

The link provides information for an Ecological Magazine with information on nature, environment and ecological politics.

ESC

The Environmental Studies Centre (ESC) is located in a restored primary school in the village of Kritou Terra, which is on the Laona plateau within the proposed Akamas National Park at the western tip of the island of Cyprus.

AEEC

The Akrotiri Environmental Education Centre, is situated within Akrotiri Community and operates in a framework of cooperation between the Sovereign Base Areas, the Ministry of Education and Culture and Akrotiri Community. Since 2007 it is part of the Network of Environmental Education Centres of the Ministry of Education and Culture together with other Centres in different areas of the island.
The other Environmental Education Centres (EECs) part of the Network are:
- The Pedoulas Environmental Education Centre,
- The Cavo Greco EEC,
- The Athalassa EEC,
- The Salamiou EEC
