PARNTERSHIP STRATEGY

THE PARTNERS

The project brings together Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot scientists from interdisciplinary areas with extensive experience in bi-communal environmental projects. The partners also draw from the experience of internationally recognised experts, who transfer to Cyprus their valuable experience and knowledge.

Through this project existing partnerships among the scientists are strengthened and expanded in new fields. The partners also cooperate with relevant bodies, particularly to the utilisation of Botanical Gardens and a seed bank for the ex-situ conservation of the targeted species.

In addition, two research companies, one in each community, were subcontracted to implement the telephone survey to determine the level of awareness on biodiversity conservation and the environmental values among Greek and Turkish Cypriot communities.

Furthermore, the project partners established close collaboration with the Cyprus Environment Stakeholders Forum (CESF), supported its activities and engaged in a subcommittee on biodiversity issues.
