Description:
Erect perennial herb, up to 100 cm high. Endemic to Cyprus, occurring in garigue or maquis at altitude 75-700 m. Six known locations (2900 plants): Pano Lefkara, Asgata, Kelokedara, Alaminos, Ineia and Kormakitis. All subpopulation are on private land and only that of Lefkara and a part of the subpopulation at Asgata are found in Natura 2000 sites.

Fruiting period: May - June
Seeding period: June - July
Threats:
1. Genetic erosion - Reduction of genetic variability (the ability for sexual reproduction is very low).
2. Limited public awareness.
The project will target the largest and most important subpopulation of this taxon ( PERIOCHI ASGATAS site), which comprises approximately 2000 individuals; that is the 70 % of the entire population of the species.
