Ophrys kotschyi

Ophrys kotschyi H. Fleischm. & Soό

Perennial orchid (lives for several years), 10 to 30 cm high.

This species is found only in Cyprus (endemic species of Cyprus) and to date has identified at least 30 locations throughout the island.

Located in scrub (scrub forests), grasslands, sparse woods, fields and wetlands limits areas, from sea level up to 900 m.

Ophrys kotschyi is included in Annex II of Directive 92/43/EEC as a priority species and in Appendix I of the Bern Convention as a strictly protected species.
